The old village is located at the top of the village and around the castle (built in the Middle Ages). As tourism in Provence grew with the construction of the artificial lake, new houses sprang up further down towards the lake. The old cemetery is worth a visit, absolutely charming.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesgorgesduverdon.fr\/greoux-les-bains.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Gr\u00e9oux-les-Bains<\/a> is a <strong>typical Provence village<\/strong> famous for its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.camping-verdon-provence.fr\/en\/greoux-les-bains-spa-treatment\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"200\">spa treatments<\/a>. The maze of narrow streets, winding between stone houses, leads up to the Templar castle, where the view is magnificent. In summer, the Ch\u00e2teau hosts open-air cinema and other events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesgorgesduverdon.fr\/moustiers-sainte-marie.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">village of Moustiers-ste-Marie<\/a> is the best known in the area. Twice voted <strong>&#8220;France&#8217;s most beautiful village&#8221;<\/strong>, it sits splendidly at the foot of the hills between which hangs the gold star. You can also admire the work of the many local earthenware makers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-base-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6393c07bbfe5c9bf78e178bead3adf29\"><strong>Manosque<\/strong> is the largest town in the area. Its old village is well worth a visit. A beautiful bookshop, and lots of little streets, porches and squares, with several churches within its old town.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-base-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-763fb198c970f188b05f94a96c152d39\"><strong>Riez<\/strong> is a Roman town, where ancient Roman remains such as columns and chapel foundations can still be seen. The village center is full of history, and boasts the region&#8217;s finest market on Saturday and Wednesday mornings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-base-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-20dce7dcf611520fc9e223f81a229fe0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesgorgesduverdon.fr\/quinson.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Quinson<\/a> is a very small village, with <strong>narrow streets typical of the region<\/strong>. It&#8217;s located on the edge of a small lake, and above all at the entrance to the Gorges du Verdon! Between Quinson and Riez is an immense plateau, filled with olive groves, truffle fields and<strong> lavender fields<\/strong>. It has nothing to envy the Valensole plateau! First, try the delicious green or black tapenades, the olive oil perfect for our salads and the lavender honey! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Riez market, you&#8217;ll find <strong>plenty of delicious local produce<\/strong>, every Wednesday and Saturday morning. The second big market is in Gr\u00e9oux-les-Bains, on Thursday mornings (and take the opportunity to visit the town on foot, it&#8217;s worth it!). Esparron-de-Verdon&#8217;s market is on Friday. In the same way, I&#8217;m counting on you not to miss out on a visit to our little village.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to <strong>restaurants and Provencal cuisine<\/strong>, we recommend La Joccianda in St Martin de Bromes. Pieds paquets, a typical local recipe, is on the menu every day! For Esparron-de-Verdon, the restaurant at Camping la Beaume also serves them from time to time.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Otherwise, to taste truffles, the black diamond of Provence, it&#8217;s best to go to Bauduen at Domaine de Majastre, or to Aups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-text-color has-poppins-font-family\" style=\"color:rgba(73,71,71,1);margin-top:0px;margin-right:0px;margin-bottom:0px;margin-left:0px;font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw -
